Showing Appreciation to a Beautiful Typeface - Edita
This is a typography project created using Adobe InDesign. The goal was to design a poster to showcase a typeface. I chose Edita because I found it particularly beautiful.
Another interesting aspect of this typeface is that it includes additional elements intended for use in cookbooks. I wanted to give the viewer a sense of how that might look. When displaying the type weights, I arranged them in a way that mimics how recipe items might appear in a cookbook.
In creating this, my goal was to fully understand and appreciate the typeface. Edita feels very light and calming, and I wanted to reflect that through the poster design. I selected light, neutral colours to help convey this atmosphere.
Overall, I aimed for the final product to feel clean, airy, and attentive to detail.This project helped me better appreciate all that typefaces have to offer. In day-to-day use, we often don’t get the chance to see every glyph and subtle detail a typeface includes. This project gave me a real opportunity to do just that.
